Because this is where you find out how many times you can come back for “just one more lap.”
Wild Dog Backyard Ultra takes place on the beautiful private grounds of Lardner Park – home to some of Victoria’s most iconic events. On the hour, every hour, runners head out for another 6.71km lap around farmland, trails and open spaces.
Miss the cut-off, or fail to start the next lap, and you’re out. The race keeps going until only one runner is left standing – and they must complete one more lap than the assist (the second-last runner) to be crowned the winner.
It’s simple, savage, and spectacular – the Wild Dog is waiting.

Wild Dog Backyard Ultra is an endurance battle of mind, body and soul. Each lap is another chance to dig deeper, to test yourself, and to see just how long you can hold the Dog at bay.
We invite you to join us at Lardner Park – for an event that bites hard, but rewards every runner who dares to step back onto that start line, hour after hour.
